Game Vision Statement in this blog I will be discussing how I will develop my game from where the idea came from to and how I hope to make it. From reading my previous blogs you probably know the idea of my game, some sort of cops and robbers but a digital version, however, there is only one other person which is a prisoner who escaped from prison and the police (the player ) must catch

object and I wanted my game to be similar.
Game Genre: The genre of this game will be action as the police will be trying to catch the prisoner. I looked up the meaning of action and it says " An action game is a video game genre that emphasizes physical challenges, including hand-eye coordination and reaction-time"(Wikipedia). From the definition can see that my game fits into this genre as it has physical challenges.
Resources required: I will need a few resources so the game isn't just a car without a setting, I will firstly need to find a background.I have found a website that shows the top 6 websites with free assets for a game. One of the websites was for the backgrounds there is a variety of all different types of background settings, however, some you may have to pay for. Another website was for objects such as a car, you just type in the object that needs in the search bar, and a selection of different ones will appear.
Emotion Player will feel: I hope that the game has a frustration element in it as the player will want to keep playing to try and win. I also it has competitiveness so the player can tell others if there score is better than perhaps a friend or family member so they try to beat the score to catching the prisoner
Hi Niamh I like your game concept and the genre you have picked I think it would be a very cool game and it reminds me of Need For Speed games that I love to play.I think with all the knowledge that you have got from all the tutorials we did so far and especially the first one we did were we had to make the car move from side to side and to avoid obstacles.I think it would be very interesting to put all the traffic on the road and a motorbike that is going away from the police chase.I like the way you have broken everything into small paragraphs which makes you statement clear and easily understandable for the person that is reading your blog about Game Vision Statement.Overall I like how u explained your vision of the game and I am looking forward to see your game in action!
ReplyDeleteHey Niamh,
ReplyDeleteI love your game idea. I think it's both original yet has some familiar aspects that would draw in fans of not only car games but also games such as GTA. I like how your doing a car game that is in the action genre. I definitely think there will be a element of frustration and even some competitiveness I know that if I was playing this with my brother we'd be doing everything to beat each other. I hope everything works for you Niamh I'll defiantly be keeping a eye on your blogs for your progress.
Hi Niamh
ReplyDeleteFirst I have to say I love the idea of a car chase game that relay popes out to me. I love the about of detale you put into discribing what your game will be and how to play it. However I feel you could go more in depth about what kind of obstacles the player could face like pot holes and ramps also will the game have timer or will it just go on and on until the prisoner is caught.
Also an idea for you if posable maby the player could choose to play as the police or the prisoner.
Best of luck making your game.
